CONTENT FOR CONVERSATIONS
Developing and sharing unique content on a regular basis is a cornerstone to growing our business and powering our empire. They say prospective clients may need around 7 touchpoints with your offers before they buy. But staying consistent with creating and sharing content (whether that’s in social media, vlogs or email) can feel so difficult and time consuming. We have all had those “I don’t know what to post” days… so having a strategy around your content planning and content actions can really help to take the guesswork out of it. Here are a few ways I approach my content planning and sharing now. Let me know what resonates with you.
1. LINK YOUR CONTENT PLAN TO YOUR WIDER BUSINESS STRATEGY
The biggest learning for me has been in linking my content to my wider 90 Day business strategy planning. (You might like to check out my blog on 90 Day Planning right here). Being clear in advance about what you stand for message wise and what you will be selling in the next quarter should influence your content sharing. This is not only about establishing yourself as an authority in your area of expertise but in making people aware of what you have coming up to sell. I have a monthly topic in my Facebook groups (Growing your Audience, Online Offers, Money) and weekly themes, with a daily structure to what I post. A central weekly Facebook Live with other daily posts to my page and group (mixing up written posts, pictures, video, business versus lifestyle).
2. MAKE IT SUPER PERSONALISED
Don’t share content just for the sake of it. Know your ideal client. Know how you can help them. Walk your talk. Share content that is honed to get them the best results. Your content should be positioned and designed specifically for the people you want to work with. To their level of success, their background, their specific goals, their specific results. Which means before you start to share (content, offers) you need to be absolutely clear in your OWN mind who you serve and how specifically you help them. And in sharing a bit of the personal behind the scenes you too- because we are all a bit nosey (me included) to see what that looks like.
3. POST IN ALIGNMENT TO YOUR ENERGY
Consistency to sharing content on a regular basis is a lot easier to do if you are consistent and committed first to your personal grand vision. The why version of your business. The reason you are called to do the work you do. If you can tap into that energetically, on a daily basis, rather than feel a pressure to be committed to post every day, then what you are called to share will come from a more authentic place. A lot of my clients come for coaching from a place of fear of being visible. Worried about what other people will think. Frightened to share content, particularly video content. There is no doubt video and lives are shared significantly more on social media and they help people get to know and trust your style, so it can be worth taking the time to see this as a skill to master like any other. You don’t need to get it perfect. Informal works so well. Show up as you -people buy into your energy- so if you are selling calm, are you living a life of calm, if you are selling health, are you living a life of health, if you are selling wealth is this reflected in your way of being? And if you love writing, write. And if you love lives, do more lives.

4. SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CONVERSATION IDEAS
Create content for connection. You wouldn’t just meet someone in person and start selling your stuff. Same goes online. Create content that gives value. Address specific problems you solve for people (for me how to power your empire through the creation of unique offers you sell with ease). Create content for different stages of your customers journey. Create content that engages. Opinion posts, teach posts, polls, questions for your group, thank you posts, welcome posts, awareness day posts, stories about your personal journey posts and not to be forgotten- selling or ask posts. 5. REPURPOSING
To leverage your time- repurpose that content. Use mini clips from your Facebook Lives to share elsewhere. Capture key teaching points into social media quotes and posts and share across your platforms. Turn your videos into blogs and your blog content into the inspiration of your next Facebook or Insta Live. You can also use tools like Headliner to make a recording of a snippet of your work into some attention-grabbing audio that will stop that scroll.
6. IT’S ALL ABOUT CONNECTION
Behind all the posting and the content and the adding value- a little reminder. It’s all about connection. Our business, our mission, our empire, our impact, is built- one conversation at a time. One connection at a time. One relationship at a time. Imagine they are there in person. Speak to that ONE.
MY BIG 6 FOUNDATIONS – TO POWER YOUR EMPIRE
These six foundations let me take the leap from my corporate healthcare policy and leadership job that I loved (with it’s £75K guaranteed salary) to running my own coaching business which I love even more (AND to earning way more in my first year). To be absolutely clear- this is not an overnight wonder story. I had been running my coaching business as a side love for more than 4 years (and coaching in my leadership roles for 20 plus years). That included hosting events, annual retreats and growing my understanding of what this whole new entrepreneurial world looked like. And how to navigate it.
These are the pillars, the foundations, the key areas of focus, I wish I had been directed to look at, not only when I started but even more importantly now that I am scaling beyond six figures.
1. STRATEGY
When I first started out, I didn’t have a plan at all. I just showed up for the next idea that felt right. And while I want to ALWAYS keep a bit of that in my world and in my business, I also know what took me to 5k months didn’t get me to 10k months. There had to be a different energy, vision and plan involved. So while I have a grand vision for building my empire and a notion of what I now want to earn annually and what a REALLY fantastic month would look like – I also reflect and set a new growth STRATEGY every 90 days. (For more details on this check out this 90 Day Planning for Extraordinary Success blog). At the beginning of every quarter I set out my plans and targets for the next 3 months- in 4 key areas: my financial goal, what I am going to deliver, what I am going to create (new ideas) and what I am going to sell.
2. SYSTEM
Getting systems set up so that I could run my business instead of it running me was a game changer. People are drawn towards clarity and away from any confusion, so the easier it is to understand what you do and the results you deliver… the better. The more you can automate behind the scenes, the more energy you have for the things that really matter. Focusing on ONE platform that serves you well first before you move on.. your social media platforms , email platform, one conversion tool, straight forward booking and buying processes. Automate where you can. Use fewer words. More calls to action. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
3. SIGNATURE YOU
Signature YOU is all around the SELF. Your mindset. Your energy. The daily rituals only YOU need to show up in the way that only YOU can. It’s about your unique expertise and focus. Your clarity of message around WHO you help and HOW you do it (in detail-no wishy washy here). AN OFFER that gets people RESULTS. Do you have a clear vision and offer? And a clear vision and message for how you help people change their world. THIS is what powers your empire.
4. SCALING YOUR AUDIENCE
A growing business requires a focus on a growing or new audience. Consider how this fits with your offers model and your perfect clients. With high end offers you may only need 3-4 clients per month. Small cost offers will need a different approach. Find your platform and share Signature YOU. For me, my place is Facebook Groups but different platforms work for different offers. The key here is in being visible and consistently showing up. On sharing content that adds value and connecting with people… person to person. You may want to check out my Content for Conversations blog here. And remember… high follower numbers don’t equate to high buyers. Its about engagement, conversation, community. Empires are built one conversation, one client at a time.
5. SELLING
This is often the area my clients struggle most with. Selling doesn’t always come naturally but it needs become an integral and natural part of your business. Seeing that selling is service. Selling every day. Selling in a way that is natural to you. Appreciating the link between growing your audience, growing your relationships and growing your sales. The link between your beliefs and selling. And create a shift from waiting for a sale to creating a sale. There are lots of different ways to go about this. Lead magnets, sales funnels, conversations, out-reaching, affiliates, social proof.
6. SELF- ASSESSMENT
Last but not least…the biggest lesson for me is in checking in consistently with what is working in my business and crucially what is not working. Decide on your metrics for the above. Assess whether you are spending your time wisely. Check your own progress in Strategy, Systems, Signature YOU, Scaling Your Audience and Selling. It’s why I’ve developed a “Right Next Step” self- assessment quiz for my Mastermind clients. To complete as we start to work together and to review at regular intervals. Your focus will move across these Big 6 pillars at different times.

90 DAY PLANNING FOR EXTRAORDINARY SUCCESS
I’ve always been a big picture person. Never short on ideas. Often too focused on getting on with the doing to actually take the time for regular review. And in previous roles in the public sector and government- I’m used to 1 year, 5 year and 10 year plans!! But the game changer for me and the secret to growing my coaching business to six figures in my first year…has been in creating 90 day planning cycles and achieving more in each of these 12 weeks cycles than I previously did in 12 months. So… if you want to get started accelerating your dreams and your business, here how I set myself up for success at the beginning of each 90 days:
1. BOLD VISUALISATION
Begin by anchoring yourself into the BOLDEST vision for your future. Take some time to sit and visualise your next 90 days, connecting them to your wider purpose, your unique blueprint (the way you want to show up in the world) and your long-term goals for you AND your business. This is your personal power source- the reason you are doing what you do in the first place. Set down powerful intentions for the coming 12 weeks and ALL the results you want to see. It’s this big vision, your why, the thing you can’t NOT do, that you can come back to as a reminder to commit and follow through. Asking “What If”. Crafting infinite possibility.
2. THE PLANNING
If visioning is the “What If”, then planning is the follow through. List all the things you want to achieve in the next 90 days and get ready to transfer them into a 90 day plan. The skill here is to keep focused and to be great at the few key things rather than (if you are like me) trying to squeeze in too many. I like to focus and write down my planning in the following areas:
My Financial Goal for the 90 days and the by month (there is nothing more powerful then setting a written target here).
And for each month what I will be:
Delivering (clients in diary, events etc)
Creating (new programmes, development, ideas)
Selling (launches, on-going product sales)
With these listed, I transfer this high- level vision into a weekly plan. I then run a daily plan, week by week up to 3-4 weeks ahead. AND I link my social media CONTENT plan to all of the above!! For more on content planning you may love this blog… Content for Community
3. ACCOUNTABILITY AND REVIEW
Take some time at the end of a week and before the next to review your progress and plan for the next. We think we need someone outside of our self to hold us to account but the reality is we need to grow the muscle to hold our self internally to account. And that starts with a mission that is bigger than us. We can’t choose what’s going on in the outside world, but we can choose how we respond to it… to our own thoughts, to others and in the action we take. So, setting weekly plans, reviewing them at the end of the week and reflecting on how you go forward provides SO many lessons. Moments of pride on what you achieved. Moments of honesty on where you have been over ambitious with your time. Moments of learning in what you want to change. Moments of clarity on right next steps. And shifts in the way you approach your business. Through measurement. And through having a focus on the actual action you took. You have more control on the actual things you do, the tests you make, the risks you took than you do on any outcome.
4. RIGHT NEXT STEP
So.. what is your right next step- the question I ask at the end of every coaching session because results don’t come through one big leap but through action moment to moment. By taking a step and then another. By building a body of work. Following our joy. Our intuition. Doing the work. Spending the time on the things that we love. The things that make the difference. Cutting the things that don’t. Living proactively. Getting more of the right things done. Running the day rather than the day running us. THAT is where your future is created. With your 90 day plan and your right next step.
